  2. SOFTSTROKES III USER'S  GUIDE

  4. All documentation assumes you have a basic understanding of how to use your computer and the programs you have purchased for it.

  7. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  8. -------------------
  9. Softstrokes III images require application(s) that are compatible with EPS and/or GIF file formats.  EPS images are saved using Adobe Illustrator as version 1.1 compatible files.  The GIF images are saved as GIF files in Adobe Photoshop.  Any other hardware requirements will be based primarily on the applications you use and the type of final output you plan to produce.

  11. For best results with EPS images, your printer should be PostScript¿ compatible.

  13. USING THE ARTWORK ON THIS CD

  15. PAGE LAYOUT PROGRAMS:
  16. Open your page layout program.  Create a new document and PLACE the EPS files as you would any other images. The following page layout programs are compatible with both the GIF and EPS file formats:
  17.         Ñ Adobe PageMaker
  18.         Ñ QuarkXPress
  19.         
  20. DRAW PROGRAMS:
  21. Open your draw program and OPEN the EPS file.  The following draw programs are compatible with the EPS file format:
  22.         Ñ Adobe Illustrator
  23.         Ñ Macromedia FreeHand
  24.         Ñ Deneba Canvas
  25.         Ñ CorelDRAW!

  27. PAINT PROGRAMS:
  28. The GIF files can be manipulated like any other bitmap images in the following programs.  However, the EPS files will be converted to bitmap images in Adobe Photoshop.  Upon opening an EPS file you will be prompted for the image size and dpi.  Make sure you choose the correct size and dpi for your finished piece of artwork.
